Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ScanCrib ("Service"), operated by ScanCrib ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ScanCrib is a cloud-based tool and equipment tracking platform designed for small construction crews. The Service enables users to:

  • Track tools and equipment using QR codes
  • Record check-out and check-in activity
  • Manage equipment inventory and maintenance schedules
  • Generate reports for insurance and tax purposes
  • Download and use Excel templates for tool management

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of ScanCrib, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update your information if it changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

Crew members who scan QR codes to check out tools do not need to create accounts. Only administrators and managers require accounts.

4. Free and Paid Plans

Free Plan

ScanCrib offers a free plan that includes tracking up to 100 assets with unlimited crew members. The free plan is available indefinitely and does not require a credit card.

Paid Plans

Paid plans provide additional features and higher asset limits. By subscribing to a paid plan:

  • You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually)
  • Prices are in US Dollars and exclude applicable taxes
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice
  • You can cancel at any time — your subscription will remain active through the end of the current billing period

Refund Policy

If you are unsatisfied with ScanCrib, contact us within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are issued at our discretion on a prorated basis.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to it
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written consent

6. Your Data

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into ScanCrib, including tool records, check-out logs, photos, and reports ("Your Data").

  • Export anytime: You can export Your Data in CSV format at any time
  • No lock-in: If you cancel your subscription, you will have 30 days to export Your Data before it is deleted
  • We don't sell your data: See our Privacy Policy for details

You grant us a limited license to process Your Data solely to provide and improve the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, logos, software, and content (excluding Your Data), is owned by ScanCrib and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The free Excel templates provided by ScanCrib are licensed for your personal and commercial use but may not be resold or redistributed.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is 100% secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANCRIB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ScanCrib harmless from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through your account settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6 (Your Data export rights), 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Limitation of Liability), and 10 (Indemnification) survive termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
